Parashurama Avatar
The sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu is Parashurama, the priest. Lord Vishnu came to Parashurama in the world to take revenge from arrogant Kshatriyas, who subdued the Brahmans. The word Parashurama derives from Parashu, which means axe, and Rama, which means Lord Rama. Therefore, Parashurama means Lord Rama with an axe. Parashurama was an ardent and passionate devotee of Lord Shiva. He was skilled in the art of battle and a great archer. He learned martial arts from Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva gifted Parashurama, an axe Bhargavastra and Vijaya as his bow.
When Parashurama came into the world, the world situation was tumultuous. According to the Vishnu Puranas, frequent battles between Kshatriyas and other kingdoms. The saga of Parashurama is as follows.
Jamadagni and Renuka of the Brahaman dynasty had Parashurama's son. Once upon a time, Kartavirya, an influential king, went to Jamadagni's house. Jamadagni was not present, and the king stole his Kamadhenu cow. The cow was valuable to Jamadagni as it gave infinite litres of milk. When Jamadagni got to know about the theft, he got infuriated.
He looked for the king and killed him. Jamadagni then brought back the Kamadhenu cow to his home. After hearing about his father's demise, the king's son was filled with agony, pain, and suffering. To take revenge on Jamadagni, he went to his house and killed him. Jamadagni's son Parashurama came home from his journey. Parashurama was shocked to see his mother, Renuka, grieving near his father's dead body. She was crying hysterically and thumped her chest twenty one times in a row.
Enraged and sorrowful at this site, Parashurama vowed to kill all Kshatriyas twenty-one times, one for each time his mother pounded her chest in grief. He travelled all over the earth in search of the sons of Kartavirya and killed them all. After Parashurama fulfilled his vow, he performed the Ashvamedha sacrifice and gave all his conquered possessions to the Brahman priests.
Parashurama played a significant role in Ramayana and Mahabharata. He served as a guide to Karna, Bhishma, and Drone. He is believed to come back as a military mentor to Kalki in Kali Yuga.

भगवान विष्णु के छठे अवतार परशुराम हैं, जो पुजारी थें। भगवान विष्णु अहंकारी क्षत्रियों का अंत करने के लिए दुनिया में परशुराम के रूप में आए। परशुराम शब्द दो शब्दों परशु से लिया गया है जिसका अर्थ है 'कुल्हाड़ी' और राम, जिसका अर्थ है भगवान राम। इसलिए, परशुराम का अर्थ है, एक कुल्हाड़ी के साथ भगवान राम। परशुराम भगवान शिव के एक उत्साही और भावुक भक्त थे। वह युद्ध की कला और एक महान धनुर्धर थें। उन्होंने भगवान शिव से मार्शल आर्ट का प्रसिक्षण लिया। भगवान शिव ने परशुराम को एक कुल्हाड़ी भार्गवस्त्र और विजया को अपने धनुष के रूप में उपहार में दिया।
जब परशुराम दुनिया में आए तो दुनिया की स्थिति विकट थी। विष्णु पुराणों के अनुसार, क्षत्रियों और अन्य राज्यों के बीच अक्सर लड़ाई होती थी। परशुराम की गाथा इस प्रकार है।
ब्राह्मण वंश के जमदग्नि और रेणुका को परशुराम नाम का एक पुत्र हुआ। एक बार, एक प्रभावशाली राजा, कार्तवीर्य, जमदग्नि के घर गया। उस समय जमदग्नि मौजूद नहीं थे फिर राजा ने उनकी कामधेनु गाय चुरा ली। गाय जमदग्नि के लिए मूल्यवान थी क्योंकि यह अनंत लीटर दूध देती थी। जब जमदग्नि को चोरी के बारे में पता चला, तो वह सहम गया।
उसने राजा की तलाश की और उसे मार डाला। तब जमदग्नि ने कामधेनु गाय को अपने घर वापस लाया। राजा का पुत्र अपने पिता के निधन के बारे में सुनकर पीड़ा से भर गया। जमदग्नि से बदला लेने के लिए, वह उसके घर गया और उसे मार डाला। जमदग्नि के पुत्र परशुराम अपनी यात्रा से घर आए। परशुराम अपनी मां, रेणुका को अपने पिता के शव के पास तड़पते हुए देखकर हैरान रह गए। वह हिंसक रूप से रो रही थी और लगातार छाती पीट रही थी।
इससे क्रोधित और दु:खी होकर, परशुराम ने सभी क्षत्रियों को इक्कीस बार मारने की कसम खाई, हर बार जब उनकी मां ने दुःख में अपनी छाती पीट ली। उसने कार्तवीर्य के पुत्रों की खोज में सारी पृथ्वी का भ्रमण किया और उन सभी को मार डाला। परशुराम द्वारा अपनी प्रतिज्ञा पूरी करने के बाद, उन्होंने अश्वमेध यज्ञ किया और विजय में प्राप्त सभी चीजें ब्राह्मण पुजारियों को दे दी।
परशुराम ने रामायण और महाभारत में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। उन्होंने कर्ण, भीष्म और द्रोण के मार्गदर्शक के रूप में कार्य किया। माना जाता है कि कलियुग में वह कल्कि के सैन्य संरक्षक के रूप में वापस आएंगे।
