Varaha Avatar
Lord Vishnu's third incarnation was in the form of Varaha, the boar. Varaha is one of the Dashavataras of Lord Vishnu. Varaha signifies the restoration of planet earth and the founding of the new age. According to the Vishnu Purana, Varaha is regarded as the eternal sustainer of earth. He is considered the divine and supreme being who brings order amidst the turmoil in the world.
As per the Puranic scriptures from Hindu mythology, the saga is as follows. The guards of Lord Vishnu's residence Vaikuntha, Jaya, and Vijaya, were cursed by the four Kumaras to be born as demons on the earth. They were born as Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu to Kashyapa and his wife, Diti. They belonged to one of the races of monsters called Daityas. Both the demon brothers were pure evil and created chaos and havoc all over.
The elder brother Hiranyaksha practised rigour meditation and, as a result, was blessed by Lord Brahma with a boon that made him resistant to any attacks by humans or animals. He was at war with the Gods. He took the earth in the depth of primitive waters. In some Puranas, it is said that the planet cried in pain; in others, she took the form of a cow and requested Lord Vishnu to protect her from the demon. Hiranyaksha had not included the animal boar in the list, which could not kill him. Therefore, Lord Vishnu came to Varaha, the boar with enormous tusks, and dived into the ocean.
Varaha confronted the demon Hiranyaksha and challenged him to battle. The demon mocked Varaha and stopped him from saving the earth. Varaha lifted the earth on his tusks and, when bothered, killed the beast after a thousand-year battle. After this, Varaha aroused from the ocean with the earth in his tusks and placed her gently in her original position.
__वराह अवतार
भगवान विष्णु का तीसरा अवतार वराह के रूप में हुआ था। वराह भगवान विष्णु के दशावतारों में से एक है। वराह पृथ्वी ग्रह की पुनर्स्थापना और नए युग की स्थापना का प्रतीक है। विष्णु पुराण के अनुसार वराह को पृथ्वी का शाश्वत निर्वाहक माना जाता है। उन्हें दैवीय और सर्वोच्च माना जाता है जो दुनिया में उथल-पुथल के बीच शांति लाता है।
हिंदू पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार वराह से जुड़ी गाथा इस प्रकार है। भगवान विष्णु के निवास वैकुंठ के रक्षकों जया और विजया को चार कुमारों ने पृथ्वी पर राक्षसों के रूप में जन्म लेने का श्राप दिया था। वे हिरण्याक्ष और हिरण्यकश्यपु के रूप में कश्यप और उनकी पत्नी दिति के यहाँ पैदा हुए। दोनों दैत्य भाई शुद्ध दुष्ट थे और चारों ओर अराजकता और कहर पैदा कर रहे थे।
बड़े भाई हिरण्याक्ष ने कठोर ध्यान का अभ्यास किया और परिणामस्वरूप, भगवान ब्रह्मा से एक वरदान प्राप्त हुआ, जिसने उन्हें मनुष्यों या जानवरों द्वारा किसी भी हमले के लिए प्रतिरोधी बना दिया। वह देवताओं के साथ युद्ध में था। उसने पृथ्वी को आदिम जल की गहराई में ले लिया। कुछ पुराणों में कहा गया है कि ग्रह पीड़ा में रोया; दूसरों में, उसने एक गाय का रूप ले लिया और भगवान विष्णु से उसे दानव से बचाने का अनुरोध किया। वरदान में, हिरण्याक्ष ने सूअर को जानवरों की सूची में शामिल नहीं किया था, जो उसे मार नहीं सकता था। इसलिए, भगवान विष्णु वराह के रूप में आए और समुद्र में डुबकी लगाई।
वराह ने राक्षस हिरण्याक्ष का सामना किया और उसे युद्ध के लिए चुनौती दी। दानव ने वराह का मजाक उड़ाया। वराह ने पृथ्वी को अपने तुकों पर उठा लिया और एक हजार साल की लड़ाई के बाद हिरण्याक्ष को मार डाला। इसके बाद, वराह ने पृथ्वी को धीरे से अपनी मूल स्थिति में रख दिया।
