Brihaspati Puja Timing
As per Hindu mythology, each day of the week is dedicated to one or the other Guru or Devta or a Graha or planet. On a specific day, the devotees offer their prayers to the particular God, observe fast and perform all rituals and ceremonies to delight the specific God.
Importance of Brihaspati
Thursday or Brihaspativaar is associated with Lord Vishnu and Lord Brihaspati or the planet Jupiter. Thursday is famously called Guruvaar as it is dedicated to the Guru of all Devtas, Brihaspati. Lord Brihaspati is very kind, giving, and generous. He is regarded as charitable and auspicious. Lord Brihaspati represents knowledge, generosity, and sacred scripture. Usually, the position of Planet Jupiter is favourable in the horoscope, but sometimes it may be malefic. To strengthen Jupiter in one's horoscope, one must follow certain rituals and ceremonies.
Brihaspati Puja on Thursday
To propitiate Brihaspati's rage, one must offer their prayers to the Lord Brihaspati and Lord Vishnu on Thursday. Thursday is the day dedicated to Planet Jupiter. One must observe the fast and perform the puja in the evening. One can have food only once and that too after the sunset. The legends related to Brihaspati puja vary from region to region but have the same holy message. All the sagas suggest that if the Guruvaar puja and fast is observed with complete devotion and sincerity, Lord Brihaspati fulfils all the wishes of their devotees and bless them prosperity, wisdom, and good fortune.
Thursday fast generally begins on the first Thursday of Shukla Paksha of any month. It should be observed for sixteen Thursdays. It is advised to wake up early on Thursday, before sunrise, take a bath, and wear yellow-coloured clothes, the colour dearest to Lord Brihaspati. The person performing the puja and observing the fast must not wash their head on that particular day. One must listen or read the Vrat Katha in the evening of the Brihaspativaar.
Yellow Color
The devotees are advised to wear yellow-coloured clothes as it is considered auspicious. They must also offer yellow flowers, yellow fruits, yellow desserts, besan, turmeric, and yellow rice to the Lord. After observing the fast, one must include yellow-coloured items in the meal like Chana dal and ghee. Yellow is the most preferred colour of Lord Brihaspati. Even the donation on this day includes yellow clothes.
Lord Brihaspati blesses the devotees who perform all the rituals with a pious heart.

गुरुवार को बृहस्पति पूजा
बृहस्पति के क्रोध को शांत करने के लिए, बृहस्पतिवार को भगवान बृहस्पति और भगवान विष्णु को अपनी प्रार्थना अवश्य करें। गुरुवार ग्रह बृहस्पति को समर्पित दिन है। शाम को पूजा करने के लिए पूरे दिन व्रत का पालन करना चाहिए। भोजन केवल एक बार किया जा सकता है और वह भी सूर्यास्त के बाद। बृहस्पति पूजा से संबंधित किंवदंतियाँ एक क्षेत्र से दूसरे क्षेत्र में अलग-अलग हैं लेकिन एक ही पवित्र संदेश है। सभी सगाओं का सुझाव है कि यदि गुरुवर पूजा और व्रत पूरी श्रद्धा और ईमानदारी के साथ मनाया जाता है, तो भगवान बृहस्पति अपने भक्तों की सभी इच्छाओं को पूरा करते हैं और उन्हें समृद्धि, ज्ञान और सौभाग्य का आशीर्वाद देते हैं।
गुरुवार का व्रत आमतौर पर किसी भी महीने के शुक्ल पक्ष के पहले गुरुवार से शुरू होता है। इसे सोलह गुरुवार तक मनाया जाना चाहिए। गुरुवार को सूर्योदय से पहले उठने और स्नान करने और पीले रंग के कपड़े पहनने की सलाह दी जाती है, जो कि भगवान बृहस्पति को प्रिय है। पूजा करने वाले व्यक्ति और व्रत का पालन करने वाले को उस विशेष दिन पर अपना सिर नहीं धोना चाहिए। बृहस्पतिवार की शाम को व्रत कथा अवश्य सुननी या पढ़नी चाहिए।
पीला रंग
भक्तों को पीले रंग के कपड़े पहनने की सलाह दी जाती है क्योंकि इसे शुभ माना जाता है। उन्हें भगवान को पीले फूल, पीले फल, पीले मिष्ठान, बेसन, हल्दी और पीले चावल भी चढ़ाने चाहिए। व्रत का पालन करने के बाद, भोजन में पीले रंग की वस्तुओं को शामिल करना चाहिए जैसे चना दाल और घी। पीला भगवान ब्रहस्पति का सबसे पसंदीदा रंग है। इस दिन दान भी करें, पीले वस्त्र भी शामिल करें।
